Bye, good nurse.

I called the doctor's office today to make my yearly checkup appointment, like a good girl. It's then that I find out the nurse practitioner that did my checkups will not be coming back from her maternity leave. This is very upsetting to me, seriously. She wasn't a "doctor" technically, but she might as well have been. Her knowledge of the medical field was top notch and I actually liked going in to see her because she would remember everything! She would ask me how downtown Bellevue was, did I start job searching since I was let go from Cingular, etc....

Also, she never gave me that "staring-ahead-blank-I-have-500-other-patients-to-see-today" look - she always let me ask questions without making me feel she was in a rush. I felt really taken care of and sensed she wanted what was best for my health no matter what she had to do to insure it.

I'm pretty sure I'll never find another practitioner or doctor like her again. Damn.

Dr. Linda Fairchild @ Viriginia Mason Clinic in Bellevue. She is just that type of person, totally down to earth, laid-back and nice. Check her out...or let her check you out.
