Our crazy, crazy weather here in the Northwest

Caution: Don't drive when its icy out. (Photo shoutout: KOMO-TV.com)

So, it looks like the weather has calmed down a bit today with lots of sunshine....shining, but the temperature won't get above 30 degrees here where we live. Which means still a lot of ice, slippery conditions and crap (as seen above) happening on the roads. Even with my Ugg boots' (that don't look like Uggs) traction I still managed to almost slip twice while out running errands today.

Weather like this tends to freak me out a bit. I'm talking, end-of-the-world stuff. As long as I've lived here (9 years on December 22nd) it's never snowed, or "stormed" like this before in DECEMBER, maybe January, but not December. This happened last year when it snowed the first weekend in December for two days in Seattle. That's just not normal.

Also, KOMO-TV is predicting this for tomorrow, "Saturday will start mostly sunny, but see increasing clouds through the day with snow developing late. But the big story is potentially catastrophic winds in the Cascade foothills, where wind gusts could reach as high as 70-90 mph."

WTF??!

Hello fellow Northwesterner!

Pretty crazy outside these days, eh? All the ice and snow puts a new "spin" (sorry) on the whole Christmas shopping thing.

Looking outside my window just now I saw Jim Foreman standing on the corner updating the "Winter Blast 2008" story by reporting that it is still, "effing cold outside".

Check out my recent post "I got your snow, right here!"
