Happy Independence Day

Or at least for me! Today at 11:00am was the official commencement of "Marisa's Last Day of Independence!" I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this day as it is getting harder everyday to walk (due to my ligaments being pulled apart in my hips and my pubic bone feeling like it's be crushed down). On the agenda:
  • Going to Panera, having coffee and a 480 calorie bear claw (they list the calories next to each item!)
  • Shopping at Target for last minute items and spending an obscene amount of money on gossip and fashion magazines.
  • Eating lunch at Frankie's.
  • Going to see Revolutionary Road (Leo and Kate were on Oprah!)
  • Baking cupcakes for Frederick's birthday this weekend!
Yesterday, this unofficial holiday was to commence, but due to the fact that I swear I smelled natural gas leaking all over the house, it was to be put on hold. The day sucked overall as I was stuck in the freezing house after missing the Puget Sound Energy guy the first time around and they shut off the gas due to it marked as an "emergency" = no heat. Which it would be an emergency - if that was the problem! Turns out it was NOT a gas leak and not even a trace of carbon monoxide in the whole house. What they told me:

"Hmmm, yeah, not a trace of anything inside or outside. We think the smell may be coming from under the house where the furnace is located. The vents are right here outside the house... there's no barrier and it seems animals are getting in there since we see a bunch of animal excrement. We recommend fixing that..."

15 days. Holy $%*&!!!! I'm going to be a mom!
