Updated: Oink, oink. It should be one of the symptoms of swine flu, the oinking part I mean.

I'm finally getting around to spending an Amazon.com gift certificate we received for Austin back in December. Thought I'd take a look to see what were the top selling items on the site and this comes up as #24. Out of all the kagillion things Amazon sells THIS was #24. Which is hilarious. Because seriously people, if you think a flimsy little mask is gonna keep you from getting the "oink oink flu", think again.

And apparently, Disney had to get in on the "fear action" as well. If a company is going to produce masks that are helpful, they should just put a huge skull and crossbones over the front of the mask, seriously.

This would compare to the ton of gas masks that sold when the news reported there was "credible evidence" that terrorists were planning to release radioactive material into the air. Again, if you think a gas mask is gonna save you from that...

Update: Ok, I just clicked on this. Could they be profiting off of people's fear? Possibly. I love how "SWINE FLU" is in HUGE letters.
