The economy is supposed to be bouncing back, right?
I'm hoping so. Since we weren't planning on having a baby and me staying home full-time and having me not working to raise Austin has definitely been a bit of a strain on us financially. So, I've been doing what I can to help save money including coupons.
Yesterday, while we were sipping our lattes at Tully's with Austin sitting in his stroller grabbing the pull string on his ducky, I went through the Sunday paper and found some really great coupons. I normally never had the patience to do this. I mean, there really wasn't enough reason to do it when single and living alone especially when my diet at the time consisted of red wine and thai food from down the street. Long hours of work and living in the city kept me from properly grocery shopping most of the time.
Since we've moved in together and more so now with Austin; we never eat out, hardly ever.
I clipped coupons, stuffed them in my wallet and then had to go out and grocery shop, anyway, to pick up formula.
Perusing through the aisles I bought things we normally buy, but just had small discounts to use this time around. There was even one for $2.00 off Seventh Generation diapers which was awesome.
I look at it like this: The wallet is a symbol of my single-girl-happy-hour-every-other-day-working-girl-life and the coupons represent a new responsibility that has bubbled up inside of me since becoming a mom.
Maybe it's time for a new wallet.
P.S. So many grown up things happening within one year. Marriage, baby and now (casually) shopping for a house. Head. Is. Spinning.
