Seriously, whenever I want to go to the bathroom in peace - it does not happen.

This is the cute look I get which then makes not being able to go to the bathroom in peace all worth it.

I remember the days, back when I worked in a corporate setting and when a little peace and quiet was needed I'd scurry to the women's bathroom, shuffle into a stall and click the lock over, then stay there for like... 10 minutes. Sometimes texting friends and asking what the hell they were up to.

See, this was needed, because at times during the day when it's all crazy and hectic the only place that people will not bother you is the bathroom for fear that perhaps you're hurling up last night's last vodka tonic, or maybe you ate one too many burritos. Whatever the reason - people just know to leave you alone.

Unfortunately, my job nowadays doesn't have coworkers like the past, nope, instead I have a six month old, who, seriously, for whatever reason will not let me go to the bathroom in peace some days. (But I do think Austin is my cutest, most adorable co-worker boss ever.) He has mistaken my walking into the bathroom with his cue to eat. I get up from our play area, thinking, in vain, that I will go pee, then take one step through the doorway and, "eeeeh, eeeeh" is what I hear (that's the sound he makes when he's hungry). Seriously? I almost starting doing the hokey pokey, one foot in the doorway, then one foot out to see if it could turn into an, "eeeh, eeeh" rap of some sort. I could try to market him to Timbaland or something. I'm actually jotting this idea down... anyway...

I know all my mommy friends, especially the ones with THREE KIDS will tell me, "Ha, just the other day I was breastfeeding so-and-so, going to the bathroom and folding laundry all at the same time. Marisa, MULTI-TASK!" I know, I know I'm learning!

Which begs the next inquiry... when will Austin sleep the through night? Or at least for six hours in a row consistently?

Oh, also, I love Flight of the Conchords, did I mention that already? I heart "Britt". They are definitely my favorite New Zealanders.

Look at how cute he is! And so big! Wow they grow fast.

There are days that I pee only twice because Griffin has me so busy - I feel your pain!

I hope he gives you lots of 6-hour stretches soon, you deserve it. And may he sleep through the night sooner than Griffin did (16 months...ugh).

Oh yes, we've all been there! Every child is different. I'm still waiting for Tina to sleep through the night!
You just have to get creative. I use to put Tina in her bouncy or high chair in the bathroom doorway. I think it was a new and interesting view, while I took a shower or my morning poop!

uuggghhh...he is so adorable....

i hear ya on the sleeping through the night. ryland is still not doing it and i didn't do anything different than what i did with caleb and alanna.
now, it's to the point where he's waking up out of habit and of course, what do i do to quickly get him back to sleep??? feed him! i know i shouldn't, but it's 3 in the stinkin' morning!!! i'd rather quick feed him for 5 minutes than have to listen to him cry for 1/2 an hour. ughhh...i really need to break him of that...maybe tonight...or tomorrow night...

Ay! I remember those days! Once? I was using our downstairs guest bath, which was about the size of the toilet itself, and had: the cat in my lap (!) then, peering inside the doorway, in height order, the dog, the boy and the girl.

Oh, well.

Oh! And P.S. What a cutie!
