Last night we had another one of those teething nights. Poor Austin, one of his top teeth is fighting to cut through the gum (I can almost hear it saying, "Let me the hell out damn it!").
So, both Scooter and I were tag teamin' going in there every couple of hours last night to soothe him back to sleep. And he was doing so well sleeping through the night. He's going down around 8:30pm and not waking up until 6:30am or 7:00am (once in a while it will be 5:30am).
Austin has also been doing this screeching sound and I'm not sure if it's to get our attention or if he's just pissed that the Seahawks lost this last Sunday. He can get loud. I did read in the pediatrician's-guide-for-parents-that-are-obviously-new-and-don't-know-what-they-are-doing-book that this is the baby's way of experimenting with their voice. (I love how the pediatrician gave us this book inside of a Similac diaper bag stuff with formula samples as if arming us for some kind of battle. Although, part of me believes he gave us this book, first thing, because he didn't want new parents calling him all hours of the night due to a baby's stuffy nose).
At the rate Austin is going, I'm pretty sure he will be the next lead singer of Skinny Puppy.
Other than all the teething and screeching I can't help but notice how he keeps looking more and more like a little boy and less like a baby. When he smiles or laughs his little teeth show and it's just a reminder, to me, that he's growing up and soon it will not be so easy to nibble on his toes or cheeks. Before I can say "honey mustard" out loud he'll be all, "Moooom, staahhhp, I'm 18, please stop nibbling on my cheeks!!!"
They grow too fast.

Ha ha - I call Griffin Honey Mustard too. And pumpkin noodle and honey doodle and countless other nicknames he'll hate me for.
I hope the teething eases us soon, it can be rough!
Usually after the first few come in it gets easier.
Glad to hear his schedule got better!
