We attended the Family Reunion that took place this past weekend and it was fun. I only wish Austin had taken his nap because he started to have random meltdowns around 5pm (which I was fully expecting!). My stepson also attended which was nice because it seemed many of the family members hadn't met him (or Austin) yet.
The only downside with getting together with family has a lot to do with my mother-in-law. It seems that every time we get together with both kids - it's all about my Stepson. She has endless photos of him and talks and asks about him all the time, but not about Austin so much. I'm not sure why. And often times, she'll hardly interact with Austin. I'm not sure what to do on this situation. Austin will soon be at the age where he'll notice this on his own, but for now I just brush it aside.
I feel drained and tired - mostly emotionally. It my and Scooter's wedding anniversary tomorrow and I'm starting to think it will be a nice, hopefully quiet dinner affair at home with lots of wine.
