The post where the commenters will be the writers...

This blog post will be written by the those who leave a comment.

Subject:  What is your one cleaning trick?  (I need some help on this topic which is why I'm not shy to reach out and ask).  I really do not like cleaning and our house mysteriously gets dirty.  I wonder why/how that happens when my back is turned for like 5 minutes.

Leave your comment below and I will cut and paste your tips throughout the day so that others can benefit from ya'lls cleaning wisdom. Be sure to leave the link to your blog as well so it can be posted alongside your tip.

Awesome!  I have some tips from commenters (is that a word??) below.

I set my oven timer for 12 minutes and focus on just one room during that time. The short spurt helps me to accomplish more because I am trying to beat the clock to finish my tasks. Also, it helps me focus on what really needs to be done, rather than finding myself sidetracked by the disorganized towel drawer or some other nonsense.

I have two tricks:

1. I call someone. I put my cell phone in my work out band, plug in the head phones which have a talk speaker attached, and clean while talking. I wish I knew why that worked...but I don't. All I know is that if I'm about to have a 10+ minute conversation with someone, I might as well kill two birds with one stone.

2. I grab a trash bag and throw away all the trash. Once it's taken out, it's easier to put the rest of the chaos back in order.

Totally agree on the dislike cleaning, isn't it amazing how nobody makes the mess?? I was coming here hoping for tips as I have few. I have used peroxide on mirrors and windows but now use all Melaleuca products which are safe for my family and the environment. That wasn't as ad, I'm just a customer really. I do like to speed clean but that seems to be the way it happens most times when someone's on the way over to my house..
I'm sorry I have no tips, please disregard this comment (I clearly didn't listen to her.)

I too despise cleaning, however I have been trying to involve the kids more lately. When they have their birthday or Christmas I take a bunch of the presents and leave them in the boxes and put them in the closet. If they help me clean they get to open one of their gifts from the closet. This way they want to help, they won't mess up other rooms as I am working on one, and it is like Christmas all the time. I also love the Swiffer and Magic Eraser. Two of my favorite cleaning products.

I leave a scrubber sponge and softscrub in my shower and 409 under the sink. When I notice something is getting a little yucky in the bathroom I grab my sponge put a tiny bit of cleaner on it and clean the spot on the go. Takes 2-3 minutes and keeps the bathroom generally pretty dang clean.

Armed with microfiber cloths, paper towels, furniture polish, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, disposable gloves, a garbage bag, broom, mop and vacuum cleaner, I start at the back of the house and work my way to the front of the house. I clean each room top to bottom...ceiling fans, light fixtures, windows, furniture, floors are last.

Vinegar works as well as any cleaning spray- it's cheaper and has no chemicals. If that isn't enough use salt- it is an abrasive and, again, cheap and chemical free.

EXCEPT in the bathroom. Then I go straight for the Mr. Clean Magic Sponge. Awesome. Just wet it and wipe everything down. Even mold just kinda disappears.

I don't do toilets though. As the woman I know that I NEVER pee down the outside of the bowl. I believe that the task of toilet cleaning belongs to the gender that sometimes misses the bowl.

I swear by my new cleaning schedule that I put together. All of my weekly tasks spread out throughout the week. I love being able to check things off on the list!

I also only use Shaklee cleaners (love them!!). The Basic H2 has literally hundreds of uses so I can use it throughout my entire house without having to switch to different products for floors, windows, dusting, counters, etc... Since they are completely safe to use around kids, I don't have to wait for naptime to do my cleaning!
