January 6, 2010

I had no idea people actually read this blog.

I noticed that a person I didn't know read this blog and had added my link to his blog.

I decided to email him:  Why would a young, male (with no children) be interested in my "mommy-venting-ever-five-seconds" blog? Does he find it entertaining?  The blog that talks about postpartum depression, poopy diapers, extensive research on formula and general complaints.

This is part of the response I got back (and hoping he doesn't mind that I'm posting a part of his email here).

Yes, I enjoy your blog. "Entertaining"? Perhaps. I simply feel that there is so much to learn from others. The stories of your trials as a mother are rather enlightening to me. As you mentioned, I'm 19 and have no plans of having children anytime soon, but still. I find you to be a very wise individual. I can only imagine what it must be like to raise a baby (particularly in the midst of winter), but you always seem to handle even your toughest trials with such grace. As a mother (or anyone for that matter) that is a rather invaluable trait.

Wise?  I'm not sure.  Definitely there were challenges for me in adjusting to motherhood this year.  I will not lie.  Hoping 2010 brings on challenges, but that of a different kind.
  Thank you Jacob!
