I swear yesterday I washed the same pan three times...

so I can't help but wonder if it was always be so monotonous staying home and raising a child.  After cleaning the high chair and floor beneath it for the second time in the late evening yesterday I again fantasized about leaving for an office each morning.

house·wife   (hous'wīf')
n., pl., -wives (-wīvz').
  1. A woman who manages her own household as her main occupation.
  2. (hŭz'ĭf) A small container for needles, thread, and other sewing equipment. (I think this second definition describes me a bit better...)
Austin's 1st birthday party.  Nap was much needed.
The one true thing stopping me from searching for a full time job is that this past year flew by.  Austin turned 1 recently and I'm not sure how parents that work full time are able to spend quality time with their children every day.  It happens, I know, but most times I get flustered and stressed when working and not sure if that will mix well with raising a little one right now.

For the meantime, I'll help friends with their businesses, work on my own creative projects and try to keep my house from falling down (as Melody would say).

They really grow up so fast, don't they!

I can only speak from my own experience as someone who works full time in that you make time for the quality time. At night and on the weekends when I am home with Griffin I am 100% with him. Playing next to him, going on adventures, having fun and talking with him. While he is awake I don't talk on the phone, check my email or try to get other things done. Motherhood is all about balance, and we all do what we have to do. I'm okay with putting "me" and houshold duties aside until after bedtime to make room for it all.

I'm proud of you for making it through the last year and so happy that you got to be with Austin every day to enjoy it. You are very lucky to have that opportunity!
