Or maybe it was just my observation a bit skewed with my being American and not having enough caffeine that morning. Maybe I just envied how they were not sanitizing their children's hands every five minutes while playing in the sensory garden. Or, it could have been how they actually sat down for a few minutes drinking coffee, chatting to one another rather than following their toddlers around making sure they didn't drink the water from the "stream".
Another thing I noticed: Although it was almost 12pm the children still looked immaculately dressed (by toddler standards). Nothing fancy, but they looked - clean. There wasn't applesauce smeared in their hair or cracker bits clinging to their sweaters.
Also, the mothers dressed like they probably did in their "pre-child life". And I believe that both of them even had their hair brushed (not just the kids, the moms too!).

It must be that je ne sais quoi everyone talks about.
