The alchemy of coffee.

Yesterday I went Starbucks' HQ (or I'm assuming it was HQ).  When you first walk in, just outside the door, emblazoned in bronze - "The Alchemy of Coffee".  This place was serious about their coffee and the power it has over Seattleites and the world over.  Once I went inside to the main building I noticed a Starbucks store on the main floor (naturally) then I made my way to the 8th floor as instructed.  The elevator doors open and I'm greeted by three receptionists that are very well dressed in suits.  At first I think I'm on the wrong floor, but then huge waft of coffee fills the air and I know I'm in the right place.
I wait in the reception area where Tazo Tea and House Blend coffee are within arms reach.  The decor was exactly how I pictured it.  The colors were neutral but bright with the ultra modern furniture and velvet curtains draped tastefully on each side of the reception area.  As I wait, I read an article from the PI on how Starbucks profits rose 44% in the 2nd quarter.  They made $98 million in the second quarter alone.  That's pretty impressive.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, I was escorted by the recruiter to a very tiny room (more like a closet with windows) for the interview.  We talked for an hour and my God, you'd think they were interviewing for the next President of the United States.   It was a good experience though and the recruiter was very nice.
Afterwards I take the shuttle back to my parked car (yes, they have shuttle service every 20 minutes) which was now hotter than an oven baking cookies.

A special thanks to "the shuttle driver" for the chit chat about Texas,  making sure I found my way to the correct entrance and for wishing me alot of luck!
